what i've been waiting 4 years for!!

THE SEX AND THE CITY MOVIE!!!!
Ever since the show ended four years ago, I, like many fans out there, have been waiting patiently for the movie to finally come out. And yesterday was the day that my four favorite girls returned!! I so desperately wanted to go last night, but I had a dinner planned with a bunch of lovely friends already, so the movie will have to wait until tomorrow when Andrew spends the day with his dad. I've bought the tickets already, I am seeing the first showing tomorrow morning, and I cannot wait!! Is anyone else as excited for this??!!!

If you have never seen this show, you really are missing out. I am sure most people who haven't seen the show have a preconceived notion about what Sex and the City is all about... but it really is such a wonderfully written show that is about the friendship of these four women above anything else. For six years, the show followed Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha through their lives, and anyone who is a fan of this show is so entwined in their lives as well. It is a show that you become emotionally invested in, being able to relate to these various women, their relationships and lives. Here is my advice for you today: Go rent the DVDs immediately, sit down and start catching up on this fabulous show. And when you have finished catching up with the six seasons in no time at all, go to the movie! You will LOVE being able to experience this fantastic story.... and of course, the fantastic shoes! ;)

I will let everyone know how the movie is tomorrow afternoon!! Hope you are all enjoying a fun weekend! xo!

kate walsh and her awesome home!!

As I was blogging about yesterday, Kate Walsh has an freakin' amazing house. Kate plays Addison on Grey's Anatomy and most recently, on the spin-off Private Practice! (Both great shows, of course!) She was on the cover of Oprah's Home magazine a while back and I fell in love with her decorating. In particular, I fell in love with her black moulding!! So here are the pictures... I went crazy and posted all of them so that all of you can become equally obsessed with her, just like me! :)

Oh my gosh, move me in!!!! Is that black mouling the coolest thing ever?? So I might try to re-create something like that in my bathroom. So exciting!!! Do you all love this as much as me?! Haha! OK, more decorating and organizing upstairs for me... this cleaning never ends!!! :)

my new love!

My new love?? Elephannie's wall decals!!!! They are so amazing! I saw them on Etsy this afternoon and I can't stop imagining them all over my house! Wouldn't the ladybugs be perfect in Andrew's room, for a boy who loves bugs??! I've got to snap a picture of his room one of these days, because it is so typically "little boy" and cute. Blue plaid wallpaper with a red bed and a red checked chair, and when I get things together this summer, matching red check curtains! So I think the addition of a few little ladybugs might be neccessary... don't you think? :)

I wallpapered my bathroom a year or so ago, but I am so sick of it already. It has pink geraniums all over it and I don't know what I was thinking when I chose it. It was a rushed decision and since the wallpaper lady was already here hanging the paper in Andrew's room, along with my bedroom, I thought... "I need wallpaper for the bathroom, NOW!!" Um, don't do that, learn from my mistakes. Now I want to rip it down and do something completely different and these decals are calling my name! These are my favorites....

But now I have to decide what colors to paint my walls??? And what color for the crown moulding??? Kate Walsh (Addison from Grey's Anatomy) had her home in a magazine a while back and she had painted all of her moulding with black glossy paint! How cute is that???? I might have to steal Addison's idea... :) I will try to find a picture of her house because it is GORGEOUS.

Alright, I am off to watch Mad Money, one of the funniest and best movies ever!! Has anyone seen it??? My mom and I saw it in the theatre and we absolutely loved it! Hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful week!

And PS. New tags and a new greeting card in the shop! :)

farmer's market tuesday!

There is a farmer's market here each Tuesday evening that I love to go to.. but during the past few months, I have been at school until late on Tuesday and Thursday nights and haven't been able to get to the market. So the first week of summer, guess where I took Andrew?! You guessed it! :) We had so much fun, and Andrew was eating apricots like crazy! He is definitely a boy who likes to eat while we browse along! We picked out some gorgeous flowers and bought the yummmmmiest jam! Can't wait until next Tuesday evening! :)

chairs and summer reading!

I was mindlessly going through blogs this evening and happily came across joie de vivre, a blog by painter Kimberly Applegate. She posts her paintings all the time and they are all of different chairs! I was enthralled, I love chairs! :) Here are a select few of my favorites, but go check out her blog... it is amazing!

"animal instinct" ... i love zebra, of course!

"end of summer blues" ... gorgeous flowers, too!

"room with a view" - love this yellow!

"summer reading list" ... which reminds me of my own summer reading list!! :)

I have been so busy with reading books for school the past few months that I haven't had a chance to read anything fun! I am die hard "chick-lit" fan, Becky Bloomwood from the "Shop-a-holic" series being one of my favorite literary heroines! ;) So I took a trip to Barnes and Noble yesterday with my mom and we had so much fun picking out some new books to indulge in by the pool this summer! My first book will be "Always the Bridesmaid" which is the first in a series of three different books... so exciting! Has anyone read this one?? I had actually never heard of it, so I am itching to start it and see if it is any good!

Anyone else have any recommendations for good girly summer reads??? With the exception of Harry Potter, that is usually all I read- but any good book advice is welcome!! I am ready to read a ton this summer...! :) Bring on the lounges and sunny days laying by the pool.......

new cards!

I have added two new cards to the shop, so perfect for Father's Day! Check them out :)

updated shop!

Finally!!!!! :) I have been all talk lately with my etsy shop and finally got my butt in gear and got some things done. I have four adorable fabric frames for sale now and will hopefully have some more up very soon. They are so darn cute, I am in love with the Eiffel Tower fabric in that simple white frame. Pat on my back for getting something done..... it's about time. :)

pictures, finally!

I finally got things together and uploaded my pictures from last week. Andrew at his birthday party at the park, looking so super cute. :) Below is right after he blew out his candles, with his two funny little friends. They were all three very into the frosting roses, waiting for me to cut the cake haha! (Notice the store-bought cake... that was the flu's fault. I was going to make an awesome dinosaur cake, but the flu sucked the life out of me and I bought a cute cake at the bakery down the hill. Andrew didn't know the difference though!)

Opening presents on his birthday...

The soccer net was a gift from us and my aunt bought Andrew the soccer ball and complete soccer "uniform"... shorts, shirt, socks, and even little shin guards! Andrew was intent on dressing the part when we played soccer in the backyard the other day. Good look, right?? :)
Andrew took a break from soccer to explore in the bushes... :)

Just thought I would finally post some of these photos! Off to sleep now.. I love snuggling in my cozy bed when I can listen to the rain, yay! Goodnight!

myles of style!

Has anyone else been watching Myles of Style on HGTV?? My mom and I happened to watch it this evening and it was seriously awesome and so beautifully done! Kim Myles, the designer on the show, was the winner of HGTV's Design Star last summer, and is so adorable. We had watched the reality-ish show where they narrowed a bunch of hopeful designers down to Kim and then she won her own show! This is the first time I got to watch it, and it is so darn good. Kim was a hair stylist from NYC, wih a flair for interior design. And let me tell you, she has so many cute ideas! Can't wait to watch this show again.... go set your DVRs and catch up on this cute new show!!!

tagged.. !!

My mom from Foxgloves, Fabric, and Folly has tagged me this morning! Thanks momma! ;) I always do love a few fun questions...! And the picture above has no relevance today, but I hate posts with no pictures... my sister and I snapped a photo of our shoes one day a few years ago and I have always loved it!! OK, on with the questions....

The rules: I have to answer 5 questions about myself. At the end of the post, I then tags 6 people and posts their names, then go to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they have been tagged and asking them to read my blog for the rules. Then, I must let the person who tagged me know when I've posted my answers.

1. What was I doing 10 years ago?

Ten years ago I was only 15! So that means I was probably taking driver's ed and practicing driving in preparation of turning 16 and getting a license! :) Enjoying high school and being a typical teenage girl I'm sure!

2. 5 things on my to do list today?

1. Clean & do laundry! :(
2. Make my fabric frames and post on Etsy!
3. Play with the little one!
4. Clean out closets- donate some clothes we don't wear anymore!
5. Possibly some errands with momma and Andrew??

3. Snacks I enjoy?

Um, everything????? ;) OK for real, anything sweet, I am addicted to those tiny chocolate-chip cookies from Trader Joe's! YUM!

4. Things I would do if I were a millionaire?

Honestly, I wouldn't do too much differently! I would probably buy a tiny little cottage near the coast for Andrew and I, and book a few trips to NYC. Other than that, I would still be finishing school and trying to actually save the money haha! Oh but wouldn't it be nice to be a millionaire???? haha!

5. Places I lived?

Born in Spokane, Washington.. then I moved to Southern California when I was about 4. We have lived in quite a few places around San Diego, and when I moved out at 18, I lived near San Diego State University to go to college. I lived there for three years and then we all moved to upstate New York where we were for two years... rural country on 31 acres, what an experience and I so miss it! But then we moved back to San Diego two years ago and I have been living in Valley Center ever since! :)

Done! Now I have to tag 6 other people..... Enjoy the questions, girls! I always love reading each and every one of your blogs...! xo!
Christine at Simple Starfish
Awesome mom to a darling baby girl at Cherry Tree Lane
Allikaye's Mama at Raising Allikaye
Julie at Joy's Hope
My sister at Mallory D. and Her Big Bodacious Blooms! (Hopefully prompting her to blog a bit more!!! hehe!)

Thanks to my mom for tagging me- so much fun! It is actually cloudy and rainy in San Diego today, so I am off to enjoy the weather while I can... before the hot summer sets in again haha! Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!

retail therapy.

After I put Andrew to sleep last night, my sister and I zipped off to the mall for an hour or so.. Nothing like a bit of shopping to make a girl smile! Look at the cute stuff I found....

The cutest earrings ever!New super-cute sunglasses since my dog chewed up my other ones..!
I also found the cutest top but couldn't find a picture of it... It is funny how a little bit of time out makes your whole outlook better! Now I can happily study today for my last final and then it is summertime, yay!
Also, I seriously have to work on my frames, but haven't had a miute to devote to them. They will be so darn cute if I can actually get them done! :)

I was up until midnight voting on two phone lines, so hopefully he will beat lil' Archuleta!! my fingers were hurting after dialing so any times haha...
Go David Cook!!!

Is anyone else watching American Idol?? Who did you love this season?! :)

UPDATE:
Wahooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so darn happy that he won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :)

Summer To-Do List!

I have two more evenings in my anatomy class and then it is summer time! One test, one final... I have so enjoyed this class, since it is the first one I have taken that seems obviously pertinent to nursing! BUT, I am in desperate need of a break and this summer I have lots of things I want to accomplish. I am a list-maker, but most of my lists get forgotten about before I can get anything done. So I am putting my summer to-do list out in the "blog-world" so that I can be kept accountable for everything! Here we go with my summer list...
  • Spend lots of time with little Andrew... he hates when I go to school so he is quite happy that I am almost done for the summer. :)
  • Exercise and get my slammin' bod! I think it is about time!
  • Eat as healthy as possible... yes, I like sweets so I won't ever be perfect, but I can try my hardest to keep crap to a minimum.
  • Blog each day!! I love posting what I am up to and love reading everyone else's blogs as well, so much fun!
  • Spend lots of time outside! Summer is a time to relax by the pool, take evening walks with Andrew, and go to the beach!
  • Make curtains for bedroom and bathroom! I've had the velvet for my bedroom panels for almost two years... think it's time to do something about that??? :)
  • Enjoy the perks of living in San Diego.. lots of beautiful beaches, museums, downtown, new restaurants, etc!
  • Make all sorts of adorable things for my Etsy store- and actually sell some things!! ;)
  • Save money! (Don't spend money on useless crap, I have too much of that!)
  • Streamline closet- donate clothes that I haven't worn in ages. Some things may be cute, but do I ever wear most of what is hanging in my closet??
  • Read books! Some new ones have been sitting on my bookshelf for ages, I think it is time to read some of them.. and maybe I'll re-read the last Harry Potter again? :)

  • Organize desk area, once and for all! It is a mess with no organization..... big problem haha. I want it to look like the one above from Martha Stewart!
  • Revamp Andrew's bedroom. It needs to be spruced up for summer! He will love that haha!
  • Update scrapbooks... I am way behind on all of mine, especially the scrapbook I started for Andrew. I think I stopped it when he was about two months old... and we just celebrated his fourth birthday. :)
  • Get a new car... minivan???? :) I am still carless right now!
  • Finish the many quilts I have hanging in the sewing room closet. I have to sew binding on about four of them and then they are all done, what am I waiting for?!
  • Sew some cute clothes! I have so much fabric that I specifically bought for summer dresses, so I better get to it..!
  • Make pillows for my zebra couch.. it is so cute, but looks a bit lonely with no comfy pillows adorning it!
  • Keep up on cleaning... no messes this summer haha! :)

Alright, that is all I can think of at the moment.. now it is off to finish up these last two tests and then this list can become a reality! :)

more etsy..!

I've been on Etsy this evening and had to post a few things that were amazing! (And is anyone else watching The Bachelorette???? I love DeAnna, she is darling!)

Are these the most amazing earrings???? By dangsworld.

Cute ring made out of vintage buttons, so neat!! By hitree.

Look at this flower garland! Amazingly cute! By Middleberg.. and the rest of her items are so great, too!

I am making fabric frames to list on Etsy tomorrow, so remember to check out my shop sometime this week!! I bought the cutest white frames today, can't wait to make them! :)

gin in my apron pocket..!!

Alright, so I have lost almost 20 pounds over the past few months (thanks in part to the flu diet! yuck!) and need something to spur me on to keep going. Now that I am almost done with school for the summer, I need to get myself together!!! That is where "Gin in My Apron Pocket" comes in... if you have not already checked out Lotta at her blog, Mom-o-Matic, go read it!!!! She cracks me up and is seriously hilarious. She started this "group" to be able to keep up with yourself, your diet, etc.. while keeping yourself sane... women used to "sneak" gin in their apron pockets to keep themselves sane, and I've got my goofy little blog!!! :) Anyways, such a funny little idea and I love it. And how cute is her graphic??? I'll keep everyone posted with my progress, yay!!!! And now go read Mom-o-Matic!

my baby turned 4!!

First of all, let me say that today my darling little boy turned 4 years old!!!! It seems so bizarre to me that he is already that "old" haha! I have lots of pictures to upload, but have misplaced my camera cord somewhere in my messy bedroom..... hopefully it will show up soon and I can blog properly about Andrew's birthday with pictures and all. I threw Andrew a party this past Friday for him and all of his little friends from our playgroup. The theme was "dinosaurs" and was so much fun for all the kids. It has been super hot here in San Diego, so a party at the park was warm, but totally worth it to see Andrew so excited. Then today was his real birthday, so we just had close family over to celebrate.. grandparents, mommy, daddy and the two aunties! We had such a nice time, Andrew got to open his presents and play all day long, swim, slip-n-slide, eat "cookie monster" cake, etc! In my opinion, it was a wonderful way to celebrate turning 4. The picture below is from his birthday party last year, but I hate posts with no photos, so I thought I would share it with you. It is one of my favorites!! :)

Now, I seriously have to apologize for being so lax with the blog posts!!!! This past week has been rough for me with the flu and then immediately having to get everything ready for Andrew's birthday! My "post a day" has been total crap lately and I apologize. I have so missed blogging and keeping up with all of my favorites, so keep in touch and I'll try to get around to read what everyone is up to in the next day or so. Hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful and relaxing weekend! xo!

wallpaper!

The idea of wallpaper used to make me very uneasy... it made me think of musty old lady houses with undesirable wall-coverings. Eek! However, in the past few years, I have grown to love it because of the wide selection that is out there. Damask, being one of my favorites, is what I used in my bedroom. I will try to snap a photo of my wallpaper soon, when my bedroom is in a bit more "picturesque" state. Being sick lately has left me with absolutely no desire to pick up and clean... So I am sharing some super-cute wallpaper pictures from one of my fave magazines, Domino!

Who wouldn't kill for this closet???? Wallpaper and all, I will take it!!

A beautiful little table area... Gorgeous wallpaper with an amazing lamp in front of it!!

After spending most of my time in bed the past few days, this cozy bed is looking quite nice right about now.... :)

Using wallpaper as a backsplash in a kitchen, how cute!!

Just a few pretty photos to help brighten this Tuesday! I know I needed that, the flu has sucked all the life out of me, yuck!!!! :( Hopefully I will get back to my normal blogging and picture taking very soon.. spanish final today and then just one more class to finish up before summer! Wish me luck!! xo!

Happy Mother's Day!

I know it is a bit late in the day, but a very warm and wonderful Happy Mother's Day to all of you wonderful mommas out there!!! Above is a completely goofy little picture of Andrew and I last year, but it is so happy and springy, so I thought it would be perfect for today. What did you all do for Mother's Day?! I spent the day getting over a terrible flu and seeing "Baby Mama"! Andrew spent the day with his daddy, so I got some much needed relaxation today. Still feeling a bit iffy, but lots of sleep tonite should recify the matter and hopefully tomorrow I will be back to normal.

Andrew and his dad came back tonite witha beautiful "Martha Stewart" bouquet of flowers in a cute little mint julep cup! So beautiful, and the "Martha" prettiness can't hurt! :) We all know how I love Martha haha!!!! I am so seriously tired tonite that I am not dragging myself up to snap a picture of it, but I snagged one online...

Pretty, isn't it?!

Hope you all spent today relaxing and enjoying your own Mother's Day! xo!!
