exciting event coming up!

  Mommy Holly will be returning to the Queen Bee Market!!!  I am SO excited to be doing this show in Escondido on September 22nd. Just about a month away!   I have already started to make goodies to bring with me to the show and I couldn't be happier with the way they are turning out so far.  Halloween, anyone?  My booth will be brimming with Halloween and festive goodies for the upcoming holidays, plus a lot of new greeting cards set at special discounted prices, and of course, my go-to regular best sellers from my shop!   Are you going to be there on September 22nd? We will be open for business at the Center for the Arts from 9am to 3pm. I will be joined by these fantastic other vendors! Plus, my sister's adorable shop will be selling with me as well!!!! I am thrilled to be getting out to a show again, and I truly hope to stop by to shop and say hello! xo!

{I love the vintage feel!}

I think tufted furniture is a nod to the past.  It gives me a vintage feel, but there are so many ways you can update it.  Toss these tufted pieces in a mix of more modern pieces and the look is really to die for!!  Onto the photos....

a fast & simple project!

I came across this photo on Pinterest today- not sure of it's original source, but I think it is a company that sells these signs.  It got me to thinking- HOW cute is this idea?

All you'd have to do is glue wooden letters that you can easily buy at any craft store for cheap onto a canvas, again from a craft store.  Or you could even glue it to a piece of plywood you can grab at the hardware store.  Really anything you can think of would work, in any size you might need.  Glue those letters on where you want them, and then spray paint the entire thing in ONE flat color.  {Who doesn't love a little spray paint, anyways?!} 

This is such a gorgeous idea, and so effetive!  Now the wheels are turning for my own house- where can I hang one of these???!!! :)

I adore anything chevron stripe.  Seriously, LOVE.  I am dying to put a Chevron stripe dress on, and paint a wall with Chevron stripes, while looking at my perfectly manicured Chevron stripe nails!!!!  OK, overboard.  You get the picture- I love it. :)  Onto the photos....

happy 4th of July!

We are off to the beach for the afternoon, where we will sit to watch the fireworks over the water in the evening.  Can't wait!  Happy Independence Day!!!xo!

red, white & blue!

 

Since Fourth of July is in only two more days, I thought it was a perfect day to share some of my favorite red, white, and blue photos and crafts.  {Along with a couple cute printables, keep reading!}  The above photo has always been a favorite for me.  The white, fluffy flowers are the perfect backdrop to the simple, yet festive table setup.  

If I were throwing a big Fourth of July bash, this is exactly how I'd want it to look.  {And can I throw in that I'd like that house and backyard, as well???}

Another favorite photo from Martha Stewart- the simple banner says it's Fourth of July without screaming it.  Simple, but so perfect.

Flags, flags, flags!  I have always been fascinated by flag cakes, but this breaks it up into cupcakes.  What a genius idea- easier to eat, but still with that to-die-for motif as a whole- so cute!!!

 

As far as crafts go for this holiday, a wreath is the perfect one in my opinion.  Easy to do, and this one is just so cute.  I adore the addition of the chalkboard sign in the middle- what a cute way to welcome guests to your home this week.

Ad if you have bored kids around this summer like me, WHAT a cute craft get them busy with!  Painted popsicle sticks, some stick-on rhinestones, and back it with a large magnet.  This is a great way to get kids creative and busy, and then you've got a new magnet for your fridge.  Win, win! :)

Two adorable eats- white chocolate dipped strawberries with blue dusting sugar???  Genius and so easy.  And a cute favor if you are having a get-together?  Licorice wrapped up in a cute bright blue cardstock.  SO easy, but it lends so much to the day.

And of course, no day is complete without cupcakes {in my opinion!}

These are all SUCH cute ways of incorporating this sweet treat into Fourth of July!

And since I love to make cupcake toppers, I am providing you with two printables here to make your own toppers.  Whether they are topping cupcakes, burgers and hot dogs, strawberries, etc, these make the perfect handmade addition to the day.

Just right click on either printable, save to your computer, and print them in whatever size you'd like.  I recommend printing about 12 to a piece of white cardstock, and then cutting them out.  Glue them onto small toothpicks or dowels and voila!  You've got yourself some handmade goodies to decorate your Fourth up so cute!!

Fourth of July is really the perfect day to add a little handmade into the holiday.  I hope you all enjoyed these photos as much as I did!

total happiness = a new picnik!

I was seriously devastated when Picnik closed down a few months ago.I used that website ALL.THE.TIME. to edit all of my photos, make cute logos and images, and I used it a ton for my work as well.  It really was a pain when it closed, and no other photo editing website came close to it, in my opinion.
However, Ribbet is now open!!!!!!Yay!!!  They sought to completely re-make the Picnik website, and it is EXACTLY the same.  I can't tell you how thrilled I am!!!  If you have never used an editing program, here is your chance.  Ribbet is just as awesome as Picnik, seriously.

Hobby Lobby!!!

Happy Friday!  Today is Andrew's first day of summer break, and also the day that my mom is coming up from San Diego to visit us for the day!  We are SO excited to be heading to the brand new store that has just opened in my town....

Ok, I know a lot of you East Coasters have already experienced the joy that is Hobby Lobby, but for us in Orange County, let me just say it is AMAZING!!!!!  It's like Michael's on steroids, for sure.  I can't wait to show my mom!!!

{it is the beginning of summer, isn't it!?}
Since today is Andrew's last day of second grade {gasp!!!!}, I think we ought to honor the time honored summer tradition of heading to the beach.  Now that I am on Orange County resident, I am only four miles from the beach.  It's right down the road, and I hope to spend a lot of lazy summer days on the sand.

Wedding Wednesday {the dress!}

Welcome to my new feature for each week, in order to share every detail about my recent wedding!  It's Wedding Wednesday!!! :)  Who doesn't love seeing some wedding photos, anyways?!
And really, when girls think weddings, what is the first thing that comes to mind for most of us??THE DRESS!
Here are the details on my fantastically perfect wedding dress, which I was {and still am!!} SO in love with.



 I picked out the dress fairly quickly- one day shopping with my mom, sister and family friend and we were SOLD on this beauty!  Here's the details...
The dress is from David's Bridal, as is the gorgeous beaded trimmed veil, and the black Vera Wang sash.  Oh, and there was a big old petticoat underneath to give the dress some more oomph!  {Like it needed MORE poof???}  Yes, I think the more poof, the better.  It's a wedding dress, people. :)  It's time to look like a cupcake, right?!  I felt absolutely beautiful in this dress, my husband loved it as well, and it was comfortable, too!  I could move and dance around in it and it was seriously PERFECT.
