choo-choo!

From the age of one, Andrew was absolutely enthralled by Thomas the Train. Every birthday and holiday was full of Thomas everything. Then one day, he was just over it. It usually sits in three big green tubs in the bottom of his closet, and I always wish for him to pull it out again and play. These little trains occupied him for countless hours over the years and it makes me so sad to think they are just collecting dust.
But days like today make me happy again!
A day that he wants to get it all out again and play just like he used to.
I guess we haven't outgrown Thomas just yet. :)
xo!

This is a sad time....but cherish every second of it! And good for you for not getting rid of those items yet....I held on to mine as long as possible....in a way, I think it made me believe I could prolong his growing up...
We just moved from Germany to CO and our things have been in transit/storage for about 3 months...
My 11 year old's 'toys' were constantly strewn about and I had the most difficult time keeping them organized in our teeny German apartment...
Little did I know, those days would come to an abrupt hault...
As the movers left and we began unpacking, weeding out those items that were at one time, "must-haves", I was completely taken back when his pile of goodwill items contained about 90% of his toys...
needless to say, I broke down then and there over those piles of toys that were full of memories. To me, they represented his leaving behind of boyish ways and moving into the inevitable 'pre-teen' state...
who knew....babies do actually grow up

This is the hardest time in mommy's life, I swear! I always have such a hard time when my kids go to kindergarten, cause they grow so much in that year. The year before is the best age! They are so lovey and sweet! Don't ever get rid of that train set. Keep it for when he's grown up.
