friday faves!

Another Friday and another week has come and gone. And that means, it is time for my favorite things for the week!! :)
Alright, I know what you are thinking... like, what the hell is that pilates photo about???? I seriously don't know. I read an article about pilates the other day, raving about how it is an awesome workout and it melts fat away like magic. More or less. So I decided to check a pilates DVD out from the library, which is my favorite place in the entire world. I just typed in "pilates DVD" to my library search and this was the first one that popped up. Not knowing what DVD I was requesting, I selected it and had it transferred to my local library. I just went to pick it up, along with a few other things (like two big ol' cheesey pizzas, which is wonderful for fat-burning... ugh.) and I was embarrassed when I was handed THIS VIDEO by the library man. This lady looks so bizarre, and since I always judge books and movies by their cover, I know this is not something I normally would choose. Lady Eighties flaunting her pilate-flab-free self. BUT, I am adding it to my Friday faves in the hopes that it will, in fact, become a fave!!! Let's hope it's good. I feel my fat melting already.

OK, real fave now. I checked out the newest book by Sophie Kinsella out from the library yesterday and I am flying through it. If you are a fan of chick-lit, the Shopaholic series, or funny, cute books, go get it! (I would say, "go buy it"... but I am lacking sufficient funds to buy books at whim at the moment. The library is the ultimate resource for poor girls who like to read at a fast pace! hehe!) And PS. The Shopaholic books are coming to the movies!!! Go read the first book, Confession of a Shop-a-holic, before it comes out as a movie! It is so darn good. :)

OK, Martha Stewart, you know you are a fave of mine. Obviously. Martha totally rocks. And did you know, she has a "craft-of-the-day" on her website?? They are always SO cute, and I love her simple, but fun ideas!

Above, a super-cute Martha craft. She used paper punch shapes and paper and framed them like this, is that the best???? :)

OK, my one last fave for the week. Queen Latifah. I LOVE HER. She is so awesome. If you watched Oprah on Thursday, you know she is going to be in the movie version of the book "The Secret Life of Bees," which is also on my to-read list. She always is in the best movies, she is GORGEOUS, she has a beautiful voice, and she is comfortable in her own skin, even though she isn't a toothpick! Oh, and she was in Hairspray! L-O-V-E her. Who doesn't???? :)

Enjoy your weekend, everyone, and remember to sign up for my SWAP! :)

I have used it a few times and it really is a work out.. Now, I just use my wii fit! Soooo much better, and they help you hold your balance in the right fat burning position!!! =] (( If you like the DVD, I will mail it to you!!! ))

Second time today that I saw something about the Movie"Secret Lives of Bees" once Oprah gets a hold of anything everybody hears about it, anyway, a must read book, but even better is Sue Monk Kidds earlier book "When the Heart Waits" a lost treasure that everyone should read.
