flags and the fourth of july <3 !!

I want to first of all wish everyone a safe, sunny and enjoyable Fourth of July weekend! I know we will be having a low-key day, swimming and being outside, and then going to see fireworks in the evening. I am so looking forward to it! :) I also wanted to post some flag pictures that amaze me... Kari and Kijsa are hosting a "flag" party, so check it out! Those girls are always thinking up cute things to post about.. thanks to both of them for inspiring this post today!
All of my pictures today have something to do with my favorite place, New York City, and of course, FLAGS as well!! :) The top picture is the fantastic St. Patrick's Cathedral, which is located across the street from Rockefeller Center. What a gorgeously ornate building, and the addition of the small flag in the corner of the picture adds so much to it... this is truly one of my favorite photos that I have ever come across!

The sun peeking through the sky-high buildings and the row of flags that show support for our country...
The flag-flying fronts of beautiful old brownstones.... what I wouldn't give to live there haha!!
And one of my favorite modern artists, Jasper Johns, completed this piece that now hangs in the NYC Museum of Modern Art. I have been there once and desperately need to go back... modern art is one of my favorite genres, and to see these pieces in front of you is truly amazing. :)

Also, a quick "thank you" to ALL of you who visited my tea party! I so appreciate all of the sweet comments you left, and I had so much fun participating in that awesomely fantastic party!!! :) xo!!

Holly, these are all wonderful pictures.

I do believe the symbolism in the first one is my favorite. It shows the balance of religion and country. Our founding fathers did build this country on religious freedom.

Holly, Your mom just told me about Andrew's accident and his leg! Bless his heart! My heart just goes out to him...and to you! We are in the same boat this week! My son broke his arm Sunday, and had to have surgery Wednesday. We go back Monday, and will probably get a more permanent cast. I certainly feel for Andrew, in a leg cast, for the rest of the summer! There won't be alot of water activities for our little men this summer will there? You and Andrew, both will be in my thoughts and prayers! Hope you have a good 4th, in spite of everything!

Hugs, Rhonda

PS...NY is my favorite destination too...and love St.Patrick's! Beauty at it's best!
