check this out! - let's play baddies!
Andrew and I are library junkies.
We get everything there.
The library is just such an amazing resource! I know I've said it before, but I will repeat myself again: If you haven't discovered the joys of the library (checking out endless books, movies, cds, etc, etc, etc!) you are so missing out.
OK, I'll hop off my "use your local library resource" soapbox and move on. :)
You and your kids are going to crack up at this one.
is the cutest and silliest little children's story.
About two little puppies (one nice, one not-so-nice!), they decide that they don't want to "play nicely" but instead they want to "play baddies."
"Baddies don't eat doggy biscuits,"
said Butch.
"They eat table legs!"
{insert hysterical laughter from Andrew here}
EEEK! I can't stand it. This book is SO cute and funny. Check it out from your local library to save a few bucks and enjoy a good book together with your family, xo!

taking notes.
Lately, Andrew has been taking little notes about everything.
Little observations.
He travels with his "journal" in hand,
writing down things he sees,
writing lists,
little pictures,
simply everything.
I snagged a photo of him when we went to the zoo recently.
Is this not the cutest child ever?
Sitting down at the zoo to write about a crazy bird
that wanted to attack his mommy's toe nail polish.
(And you wonder why I dislike live birds???? haha!)
I think it is so interesting how kids go through phases like this.
And I am loving this particular phase.
He's sounding words out, writing stories, spelling things correctly and incorrectly,
and it is so wonderful.
:)
AND PS!
I must add that our family
now has a new addition to it!
My cousin Kylee gave birth to her son,
Breckyn Timothy,
last night!
We are oh-so-happy for her!!
xo!

warm days.
Living in southern California, I can't complain about the weather.
The past week has been warm, sunny, delightful, and absolutely beautiful.
But I am, however, looking towards spring and summer with anticipation!
Sandals, flowers, fresh & crisp linens, days at the park, walking along the beach.
But for now, I will enjoy what's left of the gray weather here in San Diego, so that I can fully enjoy the warm weather when it finally arrives for good. :)
What are you looking forward to this spring and summer?

to the olympians:
...I have loved spending my evenings this past week watching all of you compete.
Winter Olympics = AMAZING.
Even Andrew is now a huge fan of snowboarding, luge, and most importantly, ice skating! :)
I think the Olympics are able to provide strength, support, and pride for each country and I so appreciate that. As a mom, it's nice to have something to watch that all ages can enjoy similarly. Andrew and I have been rooting on our favorite competitors and have been snuggled up each day together watching the DVR-ed sports from the night before.
(He's got the week off from school- gotta love year round schedules at times like this!)
Here are our absolute faves
from the past few days...
You are way cool.
And so pretty!
And I love that you wear enough makeup!
And your skiing totally rocked the other night.
And I love that while I was waiting to see you come down the hill the other night, I was quite entertained by all the other hideous crashes that your competitors endured. OUCH.
You are totally awesome.
And you seem like such a nice guy with a nice smile.
You fly way higher than all the other guys in the half pipe and do cool tricks.
Andrew thinks you are the coolest.
And I love your jean-ish snowboarding pants.
And your hair is neat!
Oh yeah, and congrats on that gold medal. :)
To Evan Lysacek:
You are my fave of all faves.
You are sassy and cool and you have nice hair.
You skate like a machine.
You wear Vera Wang outfits on the ice.
(Can it get cooler than that??? haha!)
You like snakes and feathers and I appreciate the boldness of that.
Andrew and I completely LOVE you. :)
I love the Olympics.
Go U.S.A.!
xo! :)

good looks.
Yes, I have a sick obsession with polyvore.
I like to create my dream outfits online
without the guilt of spending too much money.
It's a new form of retail therapy. :)
Go polyvore,
you know you want to!
Can someone buy me that rad rhinestone-y bag? Thanks. Actually, let's face it: I'd love to own this entire outfit. I live in clothes like this! :)
I love jeans and I think it is uber-classy to pair up some fancy accesories with a yummy pair of beat up jeans. Divine.
OK...
Now I want to go shopping.
:)
Enjoy a happy weekend, friends!
PS.
Anyone else not watching the superbowl this weekend?
I'd like to take a firm stand against football. :)

I have lots of new items ready to photograph and list,

But I am feeling the need to make more room in my shop,
more room in my crafting area,
more room in my paper stash!
So with that, I am offering lots of items in a
dollar sale!
Everything in
is only one dollar!!
Shop away, friends... and be on the lookout for a pile of new items coming very soon!

valentine's day, the martha way.
Martha Stewart always blows me away. I try to think up clever crafts and projects, but then when I go to her website, I wonder why I waste my time when she exists. :) Here are my current favorite projects that I've added to my to-do list with little Andrew.
These creative little buggers are made with cupcake liners! Something that is totally cute and yummy in a cupcake liner without making my jeans too tight! :)
The perfect little craft for a child to help with. These bookmarks are a way to get your kids super involved and get them creating! The best part is that you can't go wrong- your kids can go crazy with stickers and cutouts and markers and these gifts just get cuter. :)
I thought this was a great craft and I think this one might be what Andrew and I make for the kids in his class. What a cute and personal way to spread some Valentine's Day cheer!
What kinds of crafts will you do this year?
Any more clever and creative ideas?!
xo!

who's watching?
I am so guilty of watching (and fully enjoying!!) The Bachelor.
Who else is watching?
I like Jake, but some of those girls are way too crazy!
(coughcoughviennacoughcough)
What do you think??
I want to hear your Bachelor opinions!
And PS.
For all you long-time Bachelor fans,
did you hear that Jason&Molly from a few seasons back will be getting married on TV in March?
Yes, I will be watching. :)
Enjoy the show tonight, and I can't wait to hear what you all are thinking about these girls (& Jake!) As soon as Andrew is in bed, I will be getting cozy and watching the craziness!!
xo!
